Ft. Miles had a pair of 16" Naval guns at battery 119 with a range of 25 miles. This gun on display features a barrel that was installed on one of the guns of the battleship USS Missouri when it hosted the signing of the Japanese surrender document in Tokyo Bay in 1945. To honor it's origin in the US NNavy, the park agreed to have it painted battleship grey rather than army green.
